GARDEN DESCRIPTIONS
1. Kneeland-Walker Garden 7406 Hillcrest Drive. The gardens at this historic house change with the seasons. While walking through the garden “rooms”, visitors will encounter many colorful surprises. The combinations of perennials and annuals in the main flower garden are always a delight.
2. The owners of this 1917 home have lovingly restored their historic landscape design. In the sunken garden, they reclaimed moss-covered brick and limestone paving and incorporated old-fashioned plants in the border. Installed by Century Landscaping Company
3. This historic Benjamin Hart house mixes hardy heirloom plants with new varieties, helping to create a sense of continuity with the past. Designed and installed by owner and previous owners, Jo and Roy Cole
4. Since our 1997 tour, the owners have built an addition and planted many more unusual perennials and woody plants. This garden overflows with annuals, tropicals, and exotic ferns which they overwinter in their conservatory. Designed and installed by owners.
5. The owner is a landscape architect who has used strategic screening to keep an open feeling while providing privacy. The garden includes a patio, deck, arbor, and contemporary sunken pond along with a wide variety of woody and herbaceous plants. Designed and installed by owner and Hawks Nursery 7. A driveway lined with many colorful containers leads to a pond, gazebo, and lush plantings. The back yard features numerous paths around a koi pond as well as several fountains. Designed and installed by owner
6. Here's a truly great use of a small space! The owners have created a private outdoor living room featuring an arbor over a brick patio, a corner pool and a wide variety of plant material. Designed and plants installed by Lied’s Nursery, pergola by Valley USA, and brick patio by Hawks Nursery
8. Lush plantings of summer bulbs and ornamental grasses frame a colorful and charming house. Enter the backyard sanctuary created with a deck, hot tub, arbor and pond enhanced with many annual and perennial plantings. Designed and installed by owners
